Our first pop-up shop with Pour Into It Media was a great time.

Thank you to for creating space for Black and Brown businesses, and for having us. We’re also deeply grateful to for helping us navigate the world of pop-up shops.

For this event, we brought Pattern Breakers: our book box line to life through a build-your-own book box experience and a sensory journey with books selected to reflect the themes of the play. Alongside the books, we offered wax melts, body bars, and other intentionally selected bookish items designed to deepen the reading experience.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, bought a book, or a wax melt. I appreciate enjoying the play with y’all.

Today we stand in solidarity with the people of Minnesota and the  movement.

As a small business in a shared cooperative space, we weren’t able to close — but we are opening our doors as a place for self-care, rest, and escape today. Come change your scenery. Read. Breathe. Be in community.

Sales at Da Book Joint today are not encouraged but are welcomed. If you do shop, please use cash if you can.

We will be donating 10% of today’s sales to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund, and we will personally match that 10% with our own personal funds.

Community means showing up — even in small ways. 🤍

Supporting Black and brown businesses isn’t a trend for me, it's an ongoing commitment I practice it year-round. This Economic Blackout is another reminder to be even more intentional about where my money goes and who it uplifts.
