I was working on this vintage inspired cloche yesterday. I hand-painted the linen straw to give it a unique look and sculpted a one-of-a-kind brim style. It felt good getting back to my millinery work for a bit, although I’ve been enjoying painting canvases lately. Many of my hats that I’ve sold were worn to roaring 20’s soirées, so I hope this chapeau gets to be part of a wonderful celebration…

I’ve been working on this red chenille hat this week…it’s a custom order for a red and black hat cloche. There are beaded flowers and swirls with black sequin and embroidered leaves resting on a floral scalloped lace bordered by a woven satin trim that I hand-sewed onto the crown. I finished it off with an antique silver button centered with an aurora borealis rhinestone, to give it a bit of colorful sparkle. It was made with my love for a dear woman with a kind soul 🦋

It’s a new year and I’m excited about spreading my artistic wings in a new direction. I am spending more time painting canvases and creating botanical vases than designing hats, so I thought I’d change my website business name and get new cards to reflect my evolution. I’m developing my site right now and creating inventory for my online store. Looking forward to this new chapter in my life and I hope it will bring happiness to my soul.
