One of the things I’ve learned as a designer is that people connect with the story behind what you create.

When you’re creating something, don’t just ask, “Does this look good?”

Ask yourself:

What do I love about this?
What inspired me?
What part of *me* do I want people to see?

Your personality, your experiences, your culture, your perspective — those are the things no one else can duplicate.

So don’t be afraid to put a little more of yourself into your work.

That’s what makes it yours. ❤️

One thing I’ve learned along this journey is that you never really know where an opportunity will come from.

When I had the opportunity to share my story on Roland Martin Unfiltered, I was so grateful. ❤️

But it also reminded me of something important — **be ready for the opportunities you’re asking for.**

Keep working on your craft. Keep learning. Know how to talk about what you do and why you do it.

You never know who you’re going to meet or what conversation might lead to the next opportunity.

That’s part of the adventure! ✨

🔴 Red represents bravery, strength, and unity.

🟢 Green represents land, health, and prosperity.

Our first 'warehouse' was my garage in our home. It made sense as it offered enough space to receive the shipments from Kenya then ship them out to our retailers and customers. This was an upgrade as it meant we now had volume and I outgrew the interior of the home. I loved the setup as I got to be with my baby often.
I remember how anxious I was as we stepped into wholesale and now had large retail accounts to service.
There were sooooo many issues and I had no experience and no real guidance. I just kept figuring it out every day. Lots of praying and tears.
Here we are almost 9 years later and still figuring things out everyday but we are now extremely experienced because we didn't give up. If you have a dream for your life or business but you're not sure how to get there just start today. Figure things out as they come your way. Stay curious and keep your eyes and ears open as the right people will come your way if you're paying attention and asking questions.
