The finish lines are great.

The medals are nice.

But the best part of this journey has always been having these kids along for the ride.

Whether they're cheering at races, waiting at the finish line, or just rolling their eyes when I start talking about triathlon, running, or t-shirts again, they've been part of every mile.

To all the dads teaching their kids to stay active, work hard, show up, and keep moving forward—even when things get tough—Happy Father's Day!!!!

The lessons they remember won't be your race times or race photos. They'll remember the example you set.

My oldest did her first triathlon post-college, and race 1 of the year while she ramps up for her first 70.3 in September this year. Great day, great race! My youngest and I drove down to cheer for her while my wife did a 10k race back closer to home.

Some kids grow up watching cartoons on Saturday mornings.
Others grow up watching their mom crush marathons or an Ironman before dinner.

To all the moms out there showing their kids what dedication, discipline, and strength look like — Happy Mother’s Day.
