Yesterday was a little disappointing.

I found out a market we were getting ready for was canceled — along with the rest of the markets at that location for the year. And for a minute, it took the wind right out of my sails.

So last night I made myself a little pick-me-up. 💗

Nothing complicated. Just some soft colors, a little texture, a few pretty beads and tiny hearts clipped onto my everyday bag.

And today I brought it to work with me.

Sometimes comfort really is that small. Something completely unnecessary that makes you smile when you look at it.

Apparently I needed that today. 🥰

Sometimes the plan changes without asking permission.

Today was one of those days. A market we were getting ready for was canceled — along with the rest of the events we had planned at that location this year.

Not exactly the news a tiny business wants to get. 😅

But then I looked at what was sitting on my table:
hope. great things are coming.

Well... okay then. Message received. 😂

So, we're adjusting the calendar, looking for some new places to pop up, and carrying on.

Because apparently even my desk is telling me not to spiral. 💜

This is what “practical” looks like in my world. 😂💗

My insulated tumbler bag carries my drink and has pockets for my phone and wallet. The tiny canvas tote holds the little things I need to keep with me. And because apparently, I cannot leave anything un-charmed, there's my bear straw charm and a HOPE charm along for the ride. 🧸

Could I carry all of this without making it cute?
Obviously.

Am I going to?
Obviously not. 😂

That's a big part of what Splash of Charm has become for me. Everyday things don't have to be boring just because they're practical. Sometimes adding a little color, personality, or something that makes you smile is enough to make the ordinary feel a little better.

Someone had a VERY important birthday this week. 🥹🎂

Ku’hai Hope officially turned ONE on September 3! 💗

The little girl who came into our lives through an animal shelter market celebrated appropriately—with presents, treats, and a birthday burger that required an impressive amount of self-control while I took this picture. 😂

She may not technically be on the Splash of Charm payroll, but considering how often she's supervising, sleeping nearby while I work, or inserting herself into whatever I'm doing… I'm pretty sure she considers herself management.

Happy 1st Birthday to our Ku’hai Hope. 🐾💕

And before the internet dog-food police arrive: 😂 Her birthday feast was a plain cheeseburger with saltless fries, and she shared it with her sister, Kona Kaia. Nobody was handed a family-size combo meal. 🐶🍔🍟

This is probably the best explanation of Splash of Charm I could give you. 💗

My everyday bag isn't perfectly styled for a photo. It's covered in the little things I actually use and love.

A hand sanitizer that's easier to grab because I made it cute. A tiny tote because apparently my bag needed its own bag.

😂 A HOPE charm because sometimes one little word is enough.

None of these things are going to magically make life less chaotic.
But they can make the ordinary parts of it a little easier, a little more personal, or simply a little more fun.

And somewhere along the way, I realized that's what Splash of Charm really is.

Just checking in with our Employee of the Month. 😂🐾

Ku'hai has had a very demanding week.

She's had to sleep.

Then move somewhere else and sleep.

Then use approximately 42% of a perfectly good dog bed.

And when that became too luxurious, she apparently crawled under the furniture to reconsider her options. 😂

Please understand: nothing is wrong with this dog.
This is simply how Ku'hai chooses to live her life.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are just trying to figure out what position she'll come up with next. 😂💕

I've apparently decided bags need jewelry. 😂💕

It started with adding one little charm to one bag.
And now?

Purses. Totes. Mini bags. Tumblers. If there's somewhere to clip something cute, apparently I will find it. 😂

But I think that's why I love making these little things so much.
They're not necessary. They don't organize your entire life. They don't promise to fix your Wednesday.

They just make something you already use feel a little more you.
And sometimes a tiny bit of personality is enough to make an ordinary thing feel special. 💕
