Sweet design finishings, like icing on a cake, will make you crave seconds! Yellowcake garments are finely crafted in the heart of the Midwest – Cleveland, Ohio. Designer and artist Valerie Mayen was born in Texas and gained national recognition as a contestant on Project Runway Season 8. Since inception, Yellowcake has contributed 5% of their profits to a charitable organization that supports the relief of hunger, homelessness and poverty. We believe in creating boldly fashioned clothing that sustains and supports a healthy humanity. Employing local, supporting our neighbors and aiming to do well by doing good.

Back in May, I graduated from the LBAN Startup Accelerator at Stanford GSB with Cohort 3. Walking up to receive my certificate at Stanford was a moment I won't forget.

It started with a kickoff weekend in March, followed by weeks of webinars, assignments, and meetings with my mentor. It stretched how I think about growing my business, and the capital matchmaking sessions showed me how many doors there are for Latino founders.

Thank you to the Latino Business Action Network-LBAN, my mentor, and everyone in the cohort. I'm taking everything I learned back to Cleveland and putting it to work.
