This country has not fully recognized, and likely never will, the true extent of the sacrifices made by our veterans. As a civilian, I feel an immeasurable debt to all those who have served in the military. It is crucial that we ensure our servicemen and women are not sent into war or conflict zones unless there is a clear, overwhelmingly justifiable reason rooted in strong moral principles. We owe them careful consideration and should only call on their service when absolutely necessary. Their sacrifices should always be honored and respected, and their lives should never be risked without a cause that aligns with our highest values. See less
