Sathmara Sewing, tailoring, embroidery, and more. Sathmara is a moniker that I have chosen for myself, much as a writer chooses a pen name.

My birth name is Maria Gabriela Hernandez and I have had an interest in clothing and sewing since a very young age. I didn’t get much chance to explore sewing as a hobby during my early years, the most I ever did was a few hand sewn projects here and there; little nick-knacks, doilies, and the like. During high school I was highly involved in theater and it was in my 11th grade year that I was off

ered the chance to really become well acquainted with a sewing machine. Needless to say, the sewing machine and I have been inseparable since then. Within that same year I won a Cappie award for Costume Design for the musical The Scarlet Pimpernel. After high school I studied for a time at Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts as a Costume Design concentration in their Technical Theater program. I returned home to Florida where I continued to study at The Art Institute of Ft. LauderdaJust Catle as part of their Fashion Design program. After that, I dedicated myself to being a freelance custom clothing and costume designer for private and commercial clients. I enjoy being able to take people’s ideas for an article of clothing they want and making it a reality regardless of whether they are asking for something simple, like a night gown, or something complex, like a wedding dress. I also greatly enjoy creating or recreating costumes which tend to be more challenging and creative endeavors. Some of my previous clients include cosplayers, models, brides, men, women, children, you name it. If it is meant to be worn, I am always happy to give it my best shot at making it a reality. I can also do small jobs such as alterations, patches, fixes etc. so long as time and other preexisting projects allow. Visit my website to view my portfolio of past works. How it started → how it went.

Safe to say… it didn’t stay quiet for long 😅

We were busy the entire time, and it was amazing seeing so many of you stop by to create your own custom totes with us.

Thank you to everyone who came through and to Coral Springs, Florida Government for putting it all together 🙌

Outfitting a team goes beyond a single design.

This set was built with a mix of garments, player numbers, and logo variations; all working together to create something that feels consistent across the board.

Because when everything lines up, it does more than look good. It brings the team together.

Not everything has to be a logo.

Clothing can also be a way to express what you’re into. Whether it’s a style, a reference, or something you simply connect with.

These hoodies take classical artwork and place it in a different context, turning something traditionally seen on canvas into something personal. Especially when the imagery itself carries meaning for the person wearing it.

Sometimes it’s the smallest pieces that carry the most meaning.

This custom embroidered name patch was created with the same level of care and attention as any larger project...because details matter, no matter the scale.

A plain corset and jeans, transformed into something personal.

This piece was designed to reflect who the wearer is; a graduating senior with plans to pursue pediatric nursing. Combining school spirit, future goals, and a bold sense of style into one cohesive look.

Every detail was carefully placed, from the glitter vinyl to the sequin fringe, turning a simple base into something that carries meaning.

Because the best pieces don’t just stand out, they represent something.

A brand doesn’t live on just one piece.

It carries across everything, from everyday items to full apparel sets, and each application needs to feel just as intentional as the next.

A flexible approach that allows each piece to stand on its own while still feeling connected to the brand as a whole.

Because sometimes the goal isn’t uniformity, it’s giving the design room to work across everything it touches.
