When you wonder what goes into handmade-- this is a SIMPLE dress. Princess dresses, luxury fabrics, petticoats--now triple that time.🤯

Tangled came out in 2010, when I was pregnant with my last baby. I remember sitting next to my 5 year old in the theater, as their face lit up at the lantern scene. The next Halloween we went dressed as Rapunzel and Mother Gothel. This movie is sentimental in a lot of ways, it's a reminder of when my children were little, and I was honing my sewing skills by creating costumes and altering their store bought costumes. It also came at a time when I had experienced a pregnancy loss, and there is a scene where her parents stand next to an empty crib after they had lost Rapunzel (she was kidnapped). It was so very real to me at the time, and when she was reunited with her mother and father at the end-I was sobbing in the theater. Such a special movie, and this dress was one I was so happy to sew. It's light and airy, with dreamy pastels and flowers-something I would imagine Rapunzel's mother would have picked if she had been able to raise Rapunzel in the castle. 💜

***Comfort***
is one of the top things I consider when sewing for children. Having raised an autistic child with an aversion to all things uncomfy, I learned quickly how to sew with comfort at the forefront. There is nothing worse than spending $$$ on a dress, only to have your child say "It's itchyyyy!!" and quickly take it off. When I get a review that includes how COMFORTABLE their child was in their dress...it is a personal win I take to heart. 💗
