One of the iconic yarn places in New England, Green Mountain Spinnery in Putney, Vermont, surprised me with how small it is. Good things come in small packages though, and I got two skeins ofAmerican raised and spun Mountain Mohair yarn and some spin sample yarn they had on sale for $2/oz.

I spent this April with tulips on my mind. This was my first tulip field experience, I had a season pass to tulips, and made a good use of it!

Naturally, tulips made their way not to my vase only, but into my knitting, too. Here’s a pair of socks with tulips on heel flaps and rows of tulips on the cuffs. What do you think?

Toe up 2AAT socks with gusset and flap heel, colorwork and 2x2 ribbing
Yarn: Regia Nautical , and various bright scraps
Needles: size 1 and 2
