Sharp020

Sharp020 My custom sneakers feature unique quilted designs that add depth and create one-of-a-kind patterns, surpassing the conventional diamond quilt found elsewhere.

Every pair is meticulously handmade using reconstruction methods to improve durability. Hi, my name is Jorge, AKA Sharp020. I’m a sneaker customizer based in Miami, Florida. My work focuses on reconstructing sneakers using modern quilting. I enjoy creating minimal designs via quilts by utilizing negative space, intentional colors, and unusual quilt patterns. Customizing began for me in early 2006,

starting with simple glued-on pieces of fabrics and one-skins. In mid-2007, I successfully took a shoe apart and reconstructed it. Since then, my work has consisted of reconstructed sneakers. I strive to perfect my techniques on each piece I work on and always try something new. A few things I enjoy are reading science fiction books, rollerblading, and hanging out with my girlfriend and my two doggies. I watch anime, my favorite is Macross, and I play video games from different genres, such as the Ace Combat series, State of Decay 2, and Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

These Jordans were made for Vinh in Stanton, CA. He reached out to me to work onh a quilted shoe and we decided to work on quilting inspired by the Nike Air "Crazy" Force 1 by Michael Lau. Instead of going with white though we went with black goatskin. Other features of the shoes are the full leather lining(except for the heel) and a Cork/EVA/Leather insoles. These were definitely my most time consuming insoles I made but I think they came out pretty good. Thanks for looking!

AJ1 QUILTED BLACK-BLACK / PROGRESS 2

For today I did some work on the liners, and finished the tongues, in a small side note I found a way to make the tongues curve without having to stitch a line to form them, so it was a nice little discovery, more for tomorrow:

I've been wanting to use this materials for a long time, so I finally used it on a Puma basket mid. This was a certain experiment on a few things, first I used a suede leather for the lining and for the insole as a test to see how it would hold out with frequent use as an "everyday" shoe. I also made my own insoles using a "sandwhich" of EVA foam/cork/suede which so far has molded really well to my feet so I will start using this technique for the rest of my shoes. I had a few problems with the shoe however, I originally took this shoe apart a few years ago before I started making last from the shoes before disassembling them, so I had to experiment with other lasts. Surprisingly the last for a "low top suede" didn't work for this pair, so I ended up using a Nike janoskis last for it, for that reason it has more of a roomy toe. Another thing I experimented with this was a different gluing technique, which was to glue both the upper and the sole separate, but I wasn't able to match them up as I had originally paired them, so I'll go back to my old technique.

Hello Everyone! I've been a bit low key for a while, I've been working on the past few months on several projects. I have updated my order page(at my regular site sharp020.com) in case if it catches anyone's interest and I've been remaking my site, which might not be completely done for a few weeks. I'm trying to update all of my sites to make them a bit more easier to use, but it might take me a few weeks to get everything the way I want. For the meanwhile here is a few updates;

I also finished a puma "basket" mid, which I somehow procastinated on taking pictures, and I'm also working on a puma Liga from the early 1990s, I think another name they have is Puma 90s, either way here's some "teasers" for both

I started making this custom back in 2011. Originally it was supposed to have a constructor worker theme, hence the gray splatter, but the ink wasn't opaque enough. I only got as far as cutting materials and some of the embroidery. Recently I had the time to continue working on them so I finished them. I added the stitching on the sole for extra strength.

I made these for N-SB member godson5886, It was originally supposed to be another copy of the mint N-SB dunk I had made before, but we decided to make a couple of changes as things went along. I think it came out much better this time around anyways, I tried a couple of new things here and there and overall I'm pretty happy with them even though it took a long while to make, thank you for waiting Godson!

This are a special present I made for a family member of mine, shes from japan so I wanted to incorporate that into the design. I though about going with the traditional Japanese flag and though it would be great to do a quilting to go along as if they were the sun rays. The only problem I had was how to come up with the sun, so I came up with the idea to add a toe panel representing the sun. I made these with canvas on all panels for a more traditional look. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out and I'm sure they would be a well received present.
