If you haven’t started The Fourth Monkey series yet, do you even trust your local bookstore?! ☠️🐒🔪

We are getting SO CLOSE to the JD Barker event. I am mixed with emotions as a fan girl, Indie bookstore owner, and having the opportunity to bring an author of this scale to OUR community ❤️🚔

There is still time to power through the series (once you start you won’t want to put it down) and grab your tickets.

So I thought my fall display was super cute all on its own… 🍂📚

Then Jimbo, our UPS driver, says, “Want me to lay in there and kick my feet?”

UHM. YES. 😂💀

And just like that, the fall display reached its full potential.

Books. Pumpkins. Jimbo.
Just another day at Silk & Spine 😎

Hey Spiner’s! I have a little favor to ask 🫶🏻

If you’ve visited Silk & Spine, would you please take a minute to leave us a Google review?

Something I didn’t fully realize when I opened the store is just how much those reviews matter. Authors, publishers, reps, and tour teams look at them when deciding where to send authors and which communities to bring events to. I am trying SO hard to bring some BIG things to our community.

Every review helps show them that Danville has a community that shows up for books and that we are worth putting on the map. It would mean so much to me and my team if you took a minute to share your experience. I mean it when I say I want to hear it ALL, the great things and the things we could do better. 🥰 That’s how we grow.

Thank you for supporting this little indie bookstore and helping me keep dreaming bigger for our community. ❤️

🚨Spoiler alert! 🚨
JD Barker isn’t coming alone…

We are SO excited to share that Christine Daigle, co-author of Heavy Are the Stones, will be traveling from Canada to join JD Barker for our September 19th event! 🖤📚

If you haven’t read Heavy Are the Stones yet… add it to your list.

Detective Jena Campbell put the terrifying Leviticus Killer behind bars five years ago and buried a secret right along with him. Now, a man calling himself Azrael is threatening ten plagues, ten deaths, in ten days unless Leviticus is released. To stop him, Jena may have to turn to the very man she condemned…and face the truth she’s worked so hard to hide.

But Christine isn’t just an author, which makes this collaboration even cooler.

She’s a neuropsychologist currently working in brain-computer interface technology, where brain signals are translated into commands that can control technology. She brings that background in neuroscience and psychology directly into the dark, twisty stories she writes. She also co-hosts the Writers, Ink podcast. 🧠📖

JD has spoken about how Christine’s real-world expertise brought an authentic neuropsychology perspective to Heavy Are the Stones and now we get to have BOTH of them here together.

From Canada to little ol’ Danville, Illinois. 🥹

September 19th IS something pretty dang special. 🖤🐒
