What a beautiful afternoon with Delta Sigma Theta in Ypsilanti — a room full of presence, reflection, and women growing stronger together.

Deep gratitude to Dr. Diane Brinson‑Days for the invitation and for creating such an intentional space. Her hand‑painted, hat‑decorated chargers were a work of art — a creative touch that brought elegance, meaning, and personality to the entire setting.

One of the core messages I shared:

Life Tilts Crowns:
Circumstances shift.
Challenges come.
Moments test us.
But mindset is what helps us stay steady.

Grateful for the connection and the creativity woven into the day!

Honored to speak at the Detroit Public Library!

What made the experience especially meaningful was the audience—engaged, thoughtful, and full of questions that turned the session into a true conversation.

One woman shared beautiful photos of her family’s cultural traditions, where hats and caps were part of a Danish celebration. Another attendee, a fashion design student, shared that attending was part of his coursework—and that he walked away inspired and having learned so much.

Moments like these remind me how powerful it is when history, culture, and personal stories come together in one space.

Grateful to Jackie Sullen, Assistant Manager of Popular Library, Music, Art & Literature, for the invitation.

It poured rain all day Thursday, but that didn’t stop the Thursdays Tea Series at Troy Historic Village!

I returned for my second visit—this time sharing HATS: THEN & NOW. Always a joy to speak, and even more meaningful are the conversations before and after with attendees.

Grateful for another beautiful afternoon in Troy.

What a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the Crowned in Confidence Tea! The room was filled with warmth, conversation, and women who came ready to engage, reflect, and uplift one another. I’m grateful to Robin for the invitation and for creating such a lovely space for connection.

Thank you to every woman who came out — your presence, your openness, and the heart you brought into the room made the afternoon truly special.💜✨

👒HAPPY NATIONAL HAT DAY!
Michigan weather had other plans today ❄️ — I was all set to present HAT HISTORY: WHERE FASHION MEETS FUNCTION at the Detroit Main Library, but the snow and below‑zero temps said otherwise!

I was truly honored to learn that the event was SOLD OUT by Monday — and the library even reopened registration so more could attend. I tip my hat to every single person who registered and showed such enthusiasm for this program.

The wonderful news is that we’ve already rescheduled! I’ll be presenting on Friday, May 1st at 4 PM — the perfect lead‑in to Kentucky Derby weekend, where hats take center stage in all their glory. We’re also honored that Joe, owner of Detroit’s iconic Henry the Hatter, will be joining us to share a few words about this legendary crown jewel.

I’m looking forward to celebrating hat history with you this spring, in warmer weather and with the beauty of hat history on full display.

Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy National Hat Day!
