Starting out the new year with reintroducing myself to all the new 2026 + 2027 brides 👋
Hi, I’m Heather Clasen, a master seamstress with a passion for helping people look and feel their best. I specialize in bridal and special occasion wear, and my journey into sewing started back in middle school when I discovered my natural talent for it.
It all began when I entered a local doll dress competition and won for my age group, which sparked my love for creating with fabric. From there, I made a dress for my grandparents’ anniversary, and my aunt loved it so much she asked me to make 5 bridesmaid dresses for her wedding. That was my first taste of sewing for a real event—and I was hooked.
Throughout college, I continued to sew for friends, creating custom jacket appliqués and fixing broken buttons. After teaching for a few years, I found myself working in a bridal shop, where I learned the art of bridal alterations. The owner of the shop eventually offered me the chance to buy the business, and I ran my own bridal shop for several years. That’s when I truly fell in love with bridal sewing—each dress was unique, and the creativity and challenges of working with different fabrics and techniques kept me engaged.
After selling the shop, I became a stay-at-home mom and caregiver for my grandmother-the same grandmother whose anniversary sparked the making of my first dress-but I continued sewing on the side. Encouraged by my husband, I launched The Threaded Needle in 2017, bringing my expertise and passion for sewing to custom projects and alterations.
I believe every stitch tells a story, and I love working with my clients to bring their visions to life, whether it’s for a wedding, a special occasion, or something entirely unique. Let’s create something beautiful together! ✂️💍
