So thankful for my OG village- my mom this past week. Last Thursday I woke in the middle of the night and felt like I was on a ship. I had horrible vertigo and immediate headache, and felt like I was going to be sick. Unfortunately, it lasted all night into the morning. We contacted my vestibular therapist that I was seeing who advised me that I was probably having an inner ear infection. To make a very long story short I just recently was able to drive again. It’s such a scary feeling as a mom when you physically can’t take care of your children. My older two are luckily, so resilient and so helpful, but my newborn? I was terrified. I didn’t even feel comfortable nursing him because I was too dizzy to even hold him. Baby wearing has been put on hold for a few more days until I’m fully steady on my feet, but for now I’m so grateful for my village.

Adding here we were parked in a driveway to feed baby! I promise he rides in his seat.

I am a village baby.

My mom had support, love, and knowledge while I grew safely in her belly — she had a village.

She has support as she navigates motherhood for the third time.
She has resources to quiet the endless late-night Googling.
She has a village.

And because of that, I get to grow up surrounded by connection.
I get to attend groups that enrich my mind and foster my learning and growth.

There’s something so surreal — and so deeply moving — about watching your firstborn push your last baby in a stroller through the grocery store.

When did you get so big?
How are you old enough to hold your baby brother the way I held you eight years ago?
Where did the time go… and how do I make it slow down?

My firstborn taught me how to be a mom.
My second taught me patience.
And this third sweet baby is teaching me to slow down and soak in every single moment.

I can’t say enough good things about my Hope & Plum Sprout carrier 🤍

It’s very similar to the Lark, but designed specifically for those early postpartum snuggles — when baby wants to be close all the time.

Honestly? It’s the only reason I’ve managed to eat lunch some days.

Holding your plate over your baby while they nap in the carrier feels like a postpartum rite of passage… if you know, you know 😅

This warm weather makes stroller walks feel like a necessity ☀️
Even if there’s still a little chill in the air, getting outside just feels so good.

Sunshine does wonders for all those postpartum emotions. Fresh air, quiet moments, and a slow walk around the neighborhood can shift everything.

For now, I’m using the bassinet stroller instead of babywearing while my back heals from a poorly placed epidural. Listening to my body and giving it the time it needs 🤍

This is postpartum.
The dark circles from too little sleep.
Dishes sitting on the bookshelf because you meant to put them away… and got distracted.

And then there’s this part — the newborn snuggles.
The soft wrap cocooned against your body.
The calm in the middle of the storm, for both of us 🤍

Side note: I highly recommend the Solly Baby wrap. I didn’t have one with my first two, and the softness and texture of the fabric are unmatched. It’s easily one of the coziest, most comforting wraps I’ve used.
