I hope this inspires you to consider sprucing up things you already own instead of buying new lesser quality and much less exciting clothing.

Fabric Painting = JOY !
Learning so much on this adventure O'mine !

This cotton Gap button down was one of the 1st things I painted .
" A tester piece " that came out better than i expected.
I am not in the clear just yet .
It's in the washer as i type, follow me for the results .

Tips for those who'd like to try :

Prep your garment :
This is key , If it's new ,
wash 1st , no fabric softener , go in dry & clean .

Prep your paint :
Using acrylic fabric paint you'll need a
"fabric paint medium" & a bit of water, 2 parts to 1 part paint , hair conditioner can be added or used in place of the medium .
This ensures the fabric stays soft & plyable ,the paint is well absorbed and spreads nicely.

Prep your primer :
A coat of primer is just a solid coat of paint, usually white, however, with experience you understand what will make the best back round color for each project .

Complete your piece :
Heat set your paint
Using A NO STEAM setting , iron on high, over parchment paper or 100% cotton cloth let the iron sit STILL for 10 secs. in each area.

Wash in cool water & add to the dryer on the high setting .

I've been allowing 48-72 hrs. before heat setting & washing .

Sometimes I obsess ,
but it usually pays off.

I'm loving they end result .
As the creator I have to 💯 honestly say
" I would buy that & wear it proudly ."
before I add it to a white wooden hanger & list it !
