The Slow Fashion Movement

Did you know that is part of the slow fashion movement? Slow fashion is an aspect of sustainable fashion and a concept describing the opposite of fast fashion, part of the “slow movement” advocating for clothing and apparel manufacturing in respect to people, environment and animals. Boshek focuses on sustainable practices, such as using organic materials and minimizing water consumption. This means that less clothing ends up in landfills, and fewer harmful chemicals are released into the environment.

Wow! What a ride...the ODB is finally ready to launch and add to the collection. I originally called this jacket the Old Dirty Blanket Jacket {ODB} because not only did it sound fun but I made the first prototype that this jacket was inspired by out of a gently used blanket. I wanted to combine my two favorite things...blankets and hoodies.

Since the first iteration, I decided to find a blanket company that I loved and that had a mission I could get behind. I decided to go with Ecualama. They create the llama wool blankets in Ecuador. Their mission is a story of handcrafted tales. The goal at Ecualama is to help local artisans to represent hand crafted, fair traded, natural products all over the world. While preserving ancient artisan traditions and craftsmanship they make the link to timeless and authentic design. They want creativity to be durable, materials to last long and products to be proudly crafted. Now this is a mission I can get behind.

Eculama makes blankets in so many beautiful colors and designs and I will be adding additional colors on the website. These will be custom orders as they will come in a lined or unlined version depending on preference. I hope you love them! You can pre-order yours now if you just have to have one.

Welcome to my new Boshek Page. I am going to look at this as an opportunity to start fresh with new products coming.

BoshekBoho was founded in 2018 when I decided to leave my career in education to follow my passion which has always been photography and design. I had been doing Poshmark for some time and loved it because I could not only put together great ensembles but also photograph it well. My Poshmark page was a huge hit, however, I found it to be way too much work for the compensation. I have always LOVED clothes and style. After quitting Poshmark, I decided to design my own clothing collection.

It was important to me to make designs that were not only beautiful but also functional and made with sustainable textiles. Boshek uses ethically sourced organic cotton and h**p textiles. In addition to clothing, I wanted to create a cohesive look that included jewelry that complimented my clothing collection. Although Boshek will still offer mala and mala kits, I will be streamlining what I offer to include jewelry made in the metalsmith studio. {coming soon}

I am going to look at this an opportunity to start over and refine my look on social media just as I have been doing with my products over the years.
