A thrift store acquisition from earlier this year. Made from silver curly lamb with a quilted cotton interior and leather inside band and dark purple silk edging, this hat from Karachi is an example of the quintessential man's hat in parts of Pakistan (though I have read these are considered a little old fashioned now). However, the small diameter makes me think it was for a boy, not a man. (NFS)

Surely the weirdest, most whimsical hat pin I have ever encountered. The base under the sequins seems to be felt.

In the past few months I've acquired several vintage hats for my collection. Some I will embellish; others will join the "permanent collection". Sources: friends, garage sales, Piccadilly flea market. One was *given* to me by a garage saler when she saw that I appreciated it!
