Going to create a pattern from my favorite top. My idea with the top is to use family heirloom embroidered pieces for the center panel. I can't find a pattern like this anywhere, but I took a flat pattern drafting class in college so this will test my memory! I still have my text book.

I have been busy in my garden, petsitting & working on my business website & software since April, but I have lots on my creative to-do list. For starters: make a slipcover for my sofa, up-size my dressmaking mannequin, work on my embroidery practice book, and hand sew a wearable embroidered pocket. There are always a million ideas in my beehive mind! I will try to be better at posting my projects as I work on them. What creative things are you up to?

I have a hand embroidered runner that I think my g-grandmother stitched. She, and then my grandmother, kept it on their dressers for decades. It was very worn & had stains & holes. I decided to be brave & cut out the embroidered ends, re-stitch the missing areas, & then applique them to pillow covers. I could hardly make out the original stamped pattern on the bare areas but I found photos of others with the same pattern online. Now I can see how the stitches were before they disintegrated! You can also see how long it was originally. I think they'll be a lovely tribute to my grandmothers & to the artistry of the 30's & 40's once they're repaired & displayed on the pillows. 🧡🪡🧵
