Sea Deep Quilt Co T shirt memory/memorial quilts; pieced quilts; not-quite-so pieced quilts. Small throw quilts; twin size quilts, any ideas welcome! I'm kind of a fabric junkie.

Quilts have such a rich history. They were born out of necessity and grew into a creative artform. I love an old vintage quilt that shows the wear of the years. The kind that makes you wonder what the history is behind the quilt, how many decades ago it was made, and why it was made. I strive to create quilts that will make you feel the same way. Vintage inspired quilts that remind you of a simple

r time, but with a modern touch. I love creating quilts that invite you to snuggle up and use them! I don't cut corners or rush the process. I want to create a quality piece of art that will last for years and years. I am a lover of all things nautical....including my own salty Deep Sea Diver husband. There are so many nautical fabrics out there begging to be used. I love any fabric that is 'off the beaten' path. In my t-shirt quilts I love to let the shirts 'do the talking' and try to let them shine. In my pieced cotton quilts I like to let the fabric patterns and colors be the star of the show. Oh yes....and my name is Sarah. :) A little about me: when I'm not working around the house or parenting, I'm either running or quilting. I get the bulk of my work done at night when the kiddies are asleep. I can only take a certain number of orders since this is a part time hobby for me.

For the first year quilt, the Mom wanted funky and bohemian, but incorporating some of their tshirts. I wanted to do a double sided quilt so I could really focus on accomplishing both. I drew the stars into both sides so that it would still be a fluid transition. I picked some bright colors and made the stars and pinwheels 'wonky' and imperfect for the bohemian feel :)

This duo was made for a family with a son and daughter. Incorporating men's blue and golds tshirts into a baby quilt is not a very easy task! However, I adore the sailboat design on the boys quilt and the navy starbursts helped the shirts transition nicely into the baby girl's quilt :)

Another quilt top that was sewn by my great grandmother and never quilted. So I got to finish this bad boy up as a gift for my bro :) The backing is a Dukes of Hazard sheet--a personal touch just for my brother :) Quilted with stars and swirls.
