How is it already WIP Wednesday? Here’s the current state of my home desk… a mess of yarn and just out of frame, loose bits of roving waiting to go back to the spinning wheel 😅

The Arrowhead Shrug is coming along! I’ve started the second half, and this cute little row counter I got from Twice Sheared Sheep via Tybout House is going to come in handy on this side. I still feel like this pattern is running large, so I’m interested to see how the finished piece fits after blocking. Watch this space!

WIP Wednesday: this is neither a different craft from last week (despite what I said I was intending to do), nor the same project I started last week, but it IS a good look at my chaotic knitting brain 😅

I had a moment of doubt in the pattern in last week’s dark blue yarn—which is a lovely locally-spun/dyed product that I want to treat right—so the logical (“logical”) thing to do was to frog it and then try the pattern in a different yarn to see how the sizing actually worked. This is a beautiful Madelinetosh that I’ve been hoarding for awhile that needed a job. Will I keep it for myself or sell the final shrug? Stay tuned to find out!

How do you like this rustic-style basket 🤔

This little basket (my husband said it was exactly the right size for a single egg!) was a fun experiment with the dracaena cordage and some wild grapevine. It’s quite a different style from the hand-stitched baskets, and a little more rustic than the traditional woven baskets.

This experiment was a gift for the owner of the dracaena, but that plant keeps shedding leaves so there’s more where this came from!

I've been toying with the idea of getting a booth at Jamestown Farmers Market this year -- I'm their community engagement coordinator by day, so I'm not 100% sure yet if I want to try to both work the market as a vendor and as an employee!

BUT, if my personal fundraiser page raises $100 for JFM today on , I can try the market out and get my booth for free. And if I raise $500, my booth fee will be waived for the whole season!

Can you join me in this win-win and donate to Jamestown Farmers Market today? Donate at

WIP Wednesday: I’m trying to rotate through ALL of my crafts on a more regular basis, which will either result in a lot more makes… or way fewer 😅 time will tell!

But in the meantime, I’ve started a shrug in Little Bear Creek Alpacas (a PA-based farm) merino. This should be a lovely, soft piece in this deep blue shade!

Sometimes opportunity finds you, and when that happens, you buy the spinning wheel. This new-to-me wheel has been a real delight to get to know, and maybe someday I’ll have something to share with you that I brought from roving all the way to finished garment!

Big thanks to Coreen for connecting me with this wheel and providing continued support on how to spin with it.
