I have worked on a lot of projects, but this one was by far my favorite. It’s been over a week since we celebrated Cole’s Bar Mitzvah, and it has taken that long to even attempt to put the experience into words. I couldn’t even speak at the party because I was afraid I just couldn’t stay composed. Cole was more poised and confident than I ever could have dreamed of being at his age. While reading never came easy to him, you never would have never known as he totally nailed the Friday evening and Saturday morning Shabbat services. While I was sweating through my dress, he was calm, cool and collected. Cole is the oldest kid on both sides of the family, which isn’t always an easy role to play. Throughout the weekend, he helped entertain guests and played the role of older brother and oldest cousin with such care and joy, when he could have easily just run off with his friends. We are beyond proud of him.
Then there was the party. When Cole and I first starting talking about his mountain themed party, which focused on skiing and mountain biking, he wanted to”hype” and I wanted it to feel like a cozy, luxurious mountain resort. Just like my goal for playrooms, my goal was for the room to feel welcoming and inviting and inspire our guests to be able to party the night away, relax, and of course enjoy amazing food (I am a Jewish mom after all!). It’s not always easy when there are a lot cooks in the kitchen, but it all came together perfectly. Most importantly, Cole couldn’t have been happier with the outcome of his super special Bar Mitzvah party. There were definitely peak vibes only at the Cole Mountain Resort!
So here is a taste of Cole’s special day on 4/25/26, complete with his epic ballroom entrance. Mazel Tov, Cole Elliott! We love you to the moon!
Thank you to everyone to helped make it happen!
