Our latest addition to the Fade Journal features longtime friend of KATO, Brian. A familiar face from several of our shoots and a dedicated supporter of the brand for years, Brian’s appreciation for craftsmanship extends far beyond denim.

Growing up in Southern California surrounded by cars, motorcycles, and hands-on mechanical work, he developed a lifelong passion for traditional hot rods and the art of building something with purpose. As a member of the Degenerates Car Club and owner of two highly coveted 1932 Fords, Brian embodies the spirit of authenticity, individuality, and craftsmanship that continues to inspire both car culture and raw denim enthusiasts alike.

A selvedge collector since the early 2000s, Brian was first drawn to KATO through our signature 4-WAY STRETCH SELVEDGE®, but it’s the quality, attention to detail, and strong sense of community that have kept him a loyal member of the KATO family. From miles driven to fades earned, his story is a reminder that the best pieces only get better with time.
