Restoration Oak Artisan Boutique & Sustainable Design Center. We Let Nature Be The Artist. During this trip, the vision for my future company, Restoration Oak, was born.

Twelve years ago, I went back to my homeland to visit family and explore Colombia for close to a year. It was an experience of a lifetime for me where I visited and lived in different regions of the country and was exposed to the diverse cultures, including the native arts and crafts created by the locals. I was struck by the beauty and uniqueness of the hand made crafts and by the artisans who de

signed these amazing pieces. I was able to develop relationships with highly talented artisans and was amazed at the passion displayed by these humble people who in many ways inspired me to follow my passion, do what I love and not be afraid to take risks. I realized that inside each of us exists a unique and authentic “seed”, that when nourished gives us a sense of purpose and ignites the human spirit within. A person we never knew existed! On my return to the U.S., my entrepreneurial and creative spirit led to the creation of Samix Restoration & Design, Inc., a company specializing in design and contracting. Everything I learned from these artisans I met has been applied to my contracting business. I have delved into the art of wood working and finishing where I've worked with many talented designers and craftsman whose work can be seen in the fine homes along Long Island’s Gold Coast. My sensitivity toward protecting the environment has also inspired me to create many pieces which you will see on the site made of re-purposed wood and leather. My dream of bringing together creative design concepts for living complemented with some of the most beautiful and unique hand crafted items throughout the world, along with my designs of beautiful environmentally-friendly pieces of furniture and decor has now materialized in, Restoration Oak. By combining my passions of eco-friendly design, craftsmanship and promoting beautiful hand crafted pieces from throughout the world, I've created a unique design and shopping experience that can only be found at Restoration Oak!

Easter Community Blessing

“This Easter, we’re blessing a few homes in our Crafty Spoon community.”

Lent is a season of reflection — a time to pray, to give, and to grow in faith, hope, and love. In that spirit of generosity, Omar has handcrafted 40 Holy Water Holders, one for each day of Lent, through Restoration Oak, as a testament to his Catholic upbringing and the faith that shaped his life.

While rooted in that tradition, these pieces are meant to be embraced by anyone — of any faith or background — as a symbol of peace, renewal, and kindness within the home.

Across cultures and traditions, water has long represented cleansing, new beginnings, and life. Placed at the doorway, this vessel becomes a quiet reminder that home is a sanctuary — a place of welcome, protection, and light.

These holders are not part of a purchase requirement or promotion. They are a gift. Some have crosses, some have the Star of David, and some have symbols of peace and kindness but all are made from reclaimed wood around Long Island that we have sourced and milled. These are meant for anyone that will enjoy them.

We invite members of our Crafty Spoon community to nominate someone — or themselves — whose home could use encouragement, renewal, or blessing this season. Nominations may be submitted in-store or directly through our social channels (DM us).

From those submissions, we will thoughtfully select 40 recipients whose stories reflect the spirit of hope and restoration. The holders will be personally presented in-store at The Crafty Spoon on Palm Sunday, March 29th, as a celebration of community and gratitude.
