Platte River Trading Company Platte River Trading Company is a Lincoln Nebraska based company that was founded by Mike Schafer. We create with black, chestnut, or golden brown leather.

All our products are made from 100 percent, high-quality leather. Our belts come standard in 1”, 1 ¼”, or 1 ½” widths with a roller buckle so it doesn’t crease the leather. If you prefer, we do custom orders and can incorporate your favorite buckle. Our hardware is brass, stainless steel, or nickel plated, and we use Chicago screws rather than rivets so that buckles can be changed out as desired.

Though it looked like rain off and on, today turned out to be another productive day at the Lincoln Haymarket Farmer’s Market. Thanks to each and every customer!!

I am honored that a classmate I graduated from high school with in 1967, stopped and and bought a belt. Class of 1967- my that was a long time ago!!

As my tag line states, my belts are “hand crafted by an old guy in Lincoln Nebraska”.
