In my happy place. It’s tough sometimes to find that place or hold onto it. Being an adult, facing health challenges, financial challenges or whatever crosses your path. It’s tough. I find it’s better to make it for yourself. Life throws a lot at you and you can only control your reaction to it. Wherever you are, I hope you find that place, even for just a short while.

No other population in the United States has as many laws and statutes governing their own existence than the Indigenous people of this country. Literally everything from water to gaming to our ancestors remains. Laws are created as a result of conflict and we’ve literally had to fight for everything we have because for the over the last 500 years, we’ve been stripped of our humanity. It’s so bad, we’ve had to fight nine Supreme Court cases over the last 126 years just to put salmon on our dinner tables.

Humans shouldn’t have to fight over ownership of their own ancestral human remains. Humans shouldn’t have to fight over having clean drinking water. Humans shouldn’t have to fight this hard just to exist.

Folks say Treaties are outdated and inapplicable to modern times. Well, if they don’t want the Treaties, we’ll take all the land back that was ceded to the United States. No problem, just give it all back then.
