MAMAW'S CUSTOM CREATIONS
In May 2017, after 29+ years of service, I accepted early retirement from DePauw University, where I had been administrative assistant to advancement services and prospect research for the past 16 years. Shortly after I married the love of my life, I enrolled in a ceramic class. I learned how to pour slip into molds to make the greenware and fire my kiln to create beautif
ul ceramics for family and friends. For almost 30 years, I actively sought elusive ancestors of our families. However, I am not as active in my genealogical hunt as I once was, but still have a love for it. As the years went by, I returned to cross-stitching and in more recent years found more enjoyment in crocheting. I now have some age-related ailments in my fingers that does not allow me to crochet as I was once able to do. I’ve worked all my life and have always been active and busy whether at my job or home with my family (my husband; three, adult married children; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild). My husband and I attend Bethel Baptist Church and are members of one of the small groups. We love our church family! I purchased a cutting machine and started creating various items. I discovered my passion for keychains/bag tags, interchangeable ID badges for badge reels and earrings. I chose Mamaw’s Custom Creations as my business name as my grandchildren lovingly call me 'Mamaw'. You may find me as a vendor at local craft fairs where I enjoy meeting the attendees and the other vendors. I currently have my merchandise at Britt's Blooming Boutique in Greencastle and at Off the Square Artisans in Rockville.
