Good afternoon friends! Recently I have gone through some big changes in my life and I have some bittersweet news to share. After over 3 years of running Playful Pottery, I will officially be closing the book on my business. With the birth of my daughter over a year ago and a new employment opportunity that came about, Playful Pottery had taken a backseat in my life. After much debate, I decided it was best to close down the business completely and move on to the next phase of my life. When I first started this business in January 2013, I never expected to have the positive reception for my product and the success I saw through the various opportunities that arose. With the help of friends and family, I grew Playful Pottery into a business that helped create memories and mementos for countless children, families, and adults around the area. Playful Pottery served in many capacities as school projects, fundraisers, birthday parties, wine nights, art therapy and much more. I especially loved all the time I got to spend working with the preschools and assisted living centers. All of the teachers, children, directors, and residents were such a pleasure to work with and these experiences helped me create memories of my own that I won’t forget. The stories I heard from many of the seniors I worked with were priceless and I loved watching their eyes light up as the recounted memories that came up from painting the different pottery pieces. Working with all of the children to create tiny hand prints and footprints was also one of my favorite parts of Playful Pottery. It was impossible to leave the preschools without a smile on my face and a new hilarious story to tell. Overall, I will look back fondly on my time running Playful Pottery and am sad this journey had to come to an end. I just wanted to take this time to publicly thank everyone who was a part of this journey with me as a friend, family member or customer over the past couple years. I couldn’t have done it without the love and support of so many people and your kind words will never be forgotten. I hope to continue to see you all in the community and that the pottery pieces you created over the years bring back fond memories as well! While Playful Pottery has come to an end, I encourage you all to continue to express your creative sides and keep making memories!!
