The 2026 ArtSource Residency has started! Wow what a beginning! Our presenters helped us begin to “Find the Flow: Breathe and Create”. Lorri Acott and Adam Schultz presented their inspiring story to “Dream Big” and be okay with failures and guided us in working with fiber clay to make sculptures. Paige McGlaughlin helped us use movement to release tension and reconnect to our internal energy. And Paige Stewart shared her inspiring story of persistence and making room for one’s own voice and then let us through a powerful session of reconnecting with our creative well to get back to the feeling of flow. Art making abounds, friendships are being made, and this is only the 1st couple days! Can’t wait for what comes next during the next 3 days!

What an incredible morning of printmaking at DAVA in Aurora! 🎨♻️

During Saturday’s Tetra Pak Printmaking workshop with artist Faith Williams Dyrsten, participants transformed everyday food packaging into beautiful original prints using engraving, ink, and the printing press. From bold textures to delicate line work, each piece reflected creativity, experimentation, and a willingness to get a little inky.

We loved seeing recycled materials reimagined as art and watching participants explore this eco-friendly twist on traditional drypoint printmaking. No two prints were alike, and the results were amazing!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the workshop such a creative and inspiring experience.

ArtSource highlights from the CAEA fall conference…The Life Achievement award to Sharon Rouse, acknowledgment to Linda Schmale for her amazing volunteer service to CAEA, ArtSource and Scholastics, and Tina Butterfield’s workshop on creating inks from natural pigments. As well as other well deserved awards and many other amazing workshops by Colorado art educators! Such a great conference and time with this great community.

CAEA Fall Conference is next weekend and ArtSource is so proud of all these award winners. And especially Sharon Rouse who will be awarded for her long standing dedication to art education in Colorado. In 1995, Sharon was among the eight art educators that developed the ArtSource professional deveopment program to become leadership mentors for future participants and acted as chair of ArtSource until 2009. When Sharon retired from her classroom she became a well respected and loved docent at the Denver Art Museum. We can’t wait to celebrate you Sharon! Thank you for all you have done for teachers and students.
