The Holidays Feel Different This Year
Quieter. Heavier. Almost subdued.
•
It seems like people aren’t fully “in it” the way they once were. There’s less spontaneity, less lingering, less joy in the small moments that usually define this time of year.
•
Everyone appears stretched thin—financially, emotionally, mentally—moving cautiously instead of freely.
•
Houses are decorated and lights are glowing, but it feels more like habit than excitement, as if people are checking a box rather than celebrating the season.
•
Foot traffic is down and stores feel less crowded, even on days that usually buzz with energy.
•
Sales are slower, conversations are shorter and there’s a noticeable hesitation in the air.
•
There’s Still Time To Get In The Holiday Spirit!
•
Still time to feel festive.
Still time to support that shop down the road.
Still time to show up for one another.
•
Even when things feel quieter or different, the holidays are an invitation to reconnect—with others, and with what really matters.
•
They’re meant to remind us to reflect on the year we’ve had, acknowledge what’s been hard, and hold space for the good that is still to come
