Josh and Kallie here! We have been bustin’ our booties getting all of the oh-so-special vintage goodies ready for this weekend! Fall is such a beautiful time of year (really a personal fave) and we can’t wait to debut all of the goods we’ve been collecting for this market. We just love seeing who picks out what and getting to interact with all of you!
Today is load in and tomorrow, it’s go time! Join us for the Sweet Bee Vintage Market tomorrow (Friday) from 5pm-8pm for early bird shopping and to get first picks of the goods. There will be adult beverages available from Headwaters Crafthouse and treats from Dear Potato! Or join us Saturday from 9am-4pm for a full day of shopping fun!

Just brought in this gorgeous, huge print of The Fountains by French artist Hubert Robert in 1787-1788! This particular print was made by Turner Mfg. Co. in 1948.
Dimensions are 35.5”W x 45.5”H
It is available at Margie's Vintage, open Wed-Sun, 11am-6pm at 112 E 6th Ave in downtown Helena, MT.

Here is some history on the piece from the Art Institute of Chicago, where it is currently on display:
“The painting of Classical ruins had reached the zenith of its popularity when Hubert Robert, the leading French practitioner of this specialty, was commissioned in 1787 to paint a suite of four canvases for a wealthy financier’s château at Méréville, near Paris. The Fountains and its companion pieces were set into the paneled walls of a salon in the château, creating an alternate space that played off of the elegant, Neoclassical decor of the room. Robert has studied in Rome from 1754 to 1765 and there had gleaned his artistic vocabulary. Like the other three large paintings from the group painted for Méréville, all in the Art Institute, The Fountains exploits Robert’s typical vocabulary of fictive niches, arches, coffered vaults, colonnades, majestic stairwells, and Roman statuary to create a fantasy of expansive space. The four paintings are inhabited by tiny figures in the foreground; these serve only to set the scale and animate the scene, for the ruins themselves are the true subject of the pictures. In his use of ruins, Robert embodied the notion of the relationship of mankind and the built environment to nature that was expressed by the French philosopher and encyclopedist Denis Diderot: “Everything vanishes, everything dies, only time endures.””

We hope you’ll join us at the 42nd annual Cabin Fever Market presented by Sweet Bee Vintage Market at the Helena Civic Center on Feb. 2nd and 3rd! Friday is an evening ‘sip & shop’ from 5pm-8pm with drinks available from Headwaters Crafthouse. Saturday goes all day from 9am-4pm. There will be live music, food options and of course, VINTAGE.
We have been stocking up some gems ya’ll! You won’t want to miss it! We’ll have a packed femme rack, a packed masc rack, vintage accessories and decor!
✨And we’re excited to announce that folks who visit our booth will have the opportunity to enter our drawing to win a $50 gift certificate to Margie's Vintage! We will randomly select 3 winners at the end of the two-day market!✨

Hot dang! Some super cute glassware and ash trays just arrived at Margie's Vintage!

First, is this Viking glass orb ashtray in Thistle (SOLD). What a precious little beauty! Where my pink lovers at? 💞
Second, is a set of 4 blown glass tulip drinking glasses, signed and dated 1984 (SOLD)! Each one is a little unique with bubbles and are a lovely shape!

Lastly, we’ve got this western vibes smoking set up with an ashtray, holders for a box of cigs and a matchbook! And yes, it comes with the Oly matchbook (I have more of those matchbooks, so let me know if you need one)! Beneath the ashtray is a historic photo of Paul Bunyan and Babe in Bemidji, MN 🐂💙
