WATCH YOUR POSITION

“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” — Proverbs 27:12 NIV

In pickleball, good players don’t just watch the ball.

They recognize what’s coming.

Your opponent is loading up.
You’re caught in transition.
Your partner gets pulled wide.

Wisdom says: recognize it and adjust.

Life works the same way.

God gives us wisdom to recognize situations, habits, and temptations that can pull us away from Him.

You don’t have to walk straight into trouble just to prove you can handle it.

Sometimes wisdom is simply:

See it. Adjust. Get back in position. 🏓

🙏🏽 PRAYER

Lord, give me wisdom to recognize what isn’t good for me and courage to adjust before I get myself into trouble. Keep me positioned where You want me.

Hey everyone! We’re putting together something special and EVERYONE is invited! 🙌🏽

On Saturday, October 24th, we’re bringing the pickleball community together at Champions Pickleball & Padel Club for an afternoon of pickleball, fellowship, prayer and giving back.

🇨🇴❤️ THIS IS A COMPLETELY FREE EVENT!

We’ll be accepting voluntary donations, with all proceeds going toward Colombia earthquake relief and helping those affected by the tragedy.

STOP RUSHING THE POINT.

“A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.” — Proverbs 19:11 NIV

Pickleball will test your patience QUICK. 😂

You get a ball that’s almost attackable…

and instead of waiting for the right one—

💥 You force it.

Net.

Patience isn’t passive. Patience is discipline.

The best players don’t attack every ball. They reset. They dink. They move their opponent. They wait until the opportunity is actually there.

And Proverbs reminds us that life works the same way.

Not every comment deserves a reaction.
Not every disagreement needs an answer.
Not every opportunity needs to be forced.

Sometimes wisdom looks like waiting.

🙏🏽 PRAYER

Lord, give me patience when I want to rush. Help me recognize when to act and when to wait. Teach me to trust Your timing instead of forcing mine.

KNOW WHEN TO REST

“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” — Proverbs 3:24 NIV

This gives us a different message from all the grind, discipline, work harder content we’ve been doing.

Because here’s the truth:

Rest isn’t quitting. Rest is part of training.

You can’t play your best when your body is exhausted.
You can’t make smart decisions when your mind is drained.
And you can’t keep pouring into others when you’re running on empty.

Even in our walk with God, there are times to stop striving, recover, and trust Him.

🏓 Train hard.
💪🏽 Recover intentionally.
🙏🏽 Rest without guilt.
✝️ Trust God with what you can’t accomplish today.

You don’t get stronger during every rep. Sometimes you get stronger during the recovery.

🙏🏽 Prayer

Lord, teach me the difference between laziness and needed rest. Help me work diligently, but also have the wisdom to slow down, recover, and trust You. Restore my body, my mind, and my spirit so I’m ready for what You’ve called me to do.

WORDS BUILD UP OR BREAK DOWN.

“The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.” — Proverbs 15:4 NIV

Your partner misses an easy dink.

Hits the return into the net.

Pops up a ball at 9–9.

What comes out of your mouth next matters.

A simple “I got you.” “Next one.” “We’re good.” can restore confidence.

But frustration, criticism, or negative body language can crush it just as quickly.

And isn’t that true off the court too?

God reminds us that our words have power. We can use them to encourage, restore, and give life—or we can use them to tear someone down.

Before you speak, ask:

Will my words help this person get back in the game… or make them want to quit?

🙏🏽 PRAYER

Lord, help me use my words to give life. Teach me to encourage when it’s easier to criticize, show grace when mistakes happen, and speak in a way that reflects You—on and off the court.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THE WORK SHOWS.

“Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” — Proverbs 10:4 NIV

Everybody wants better hands.
Better resets.
Better drives.
More wins.

But improvement doesn’t come from wanting it.

It comes from drilling when nobody’s watching.
Working on the shot you keep missing.
Showing up when you don’t feel like it.
Doing the little things over and over again.

And Proverbs reminds us this goes far beyond pickleball.

God honors diligence.

Your faith. Your family. Your health. Your work. Your goals.

Don’t just pray for the harvest while ignoring the work God has put in your hands.

🙏🏽 PRAYER

Lord, give me discipline to be faithful with what You’ve given me. Help me work with diligence, stay consistent when motivation fades, and trust You with the results.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🏓 You can’t skip the reps and expect the results.

KNOW WHEN TO RESET

“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” — Proverbs 22:3 NIV

Ever know you’re in trouble during a point… and attack anyway? 😂

You’re off balance.
The ball is too low.
You’re stuck in transition.

But instead of resetting…

you try to be the hero. 💥

And three seconds later you’re walking back to the baseline. 😂

Proverbs teaches something powerful: wisdom recognizes trouble and adjusts.

That’s true on the court—and in life.

Not every ball needs to be attacked.
Not every argument needs to be won.
Not every opportunity needs a yes.
Not every situation needs an immediate reaction.

Sometimes wisdom says:

Reset. Be patient. Get back in position.

And spiritually, sometimes God isn’t asking you to force your way through something.

He’s asking you to trust Him enough to slow down and make the wise play.

🙏🏽 PRAYER

Lord, give me wisdom to recognize when I’m forcing things. Teach me when to attack, when to wait, and when to reset. Help me choose wisdom over pride—on the court and in life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TRUST THE CALL

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 NIV

In pickleball, sometimes you make the right shot and still lose the point.

That doesn’t mean it was the wrong decision.

Life can feel the same way.

We pray. We make the best decision we can. We try to honor God—and still don’t understand the outcome.

But faith isn’t trusting God only when His plan makes sense.

Faith is trusting Him when it doesn’t.

🏓 Make the right play.
🙏🏽 Release the outcome.
✝️ Trust the One who sees the whole court.

🙏🏽 PRAYER

Lord, when I don’t understand what You’re doing, help me trust who You are. Give me wisdom to make the right decisions and faith to leave the results in Your hands.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You don’t have to see the whole game plan to trust the Coach. 🥒✝︎🙏🏽
