This is a stunning OOAK formal gown made by Rose Taft Couture Fashions in the 1980s. Rose Taft gowns are all custom made, with hand sewn details.
This dress is made of a semi-sheer polyester organza in a pastel floral print with alternating shiny pink and sheer vertical stripes. The gorgeous bodice has a scalloped dropped waist and features a lace overlay with whisker fringe along the top and bottom. Over that are 3-D organza flowers, the petals of which are edged with metallic gold. Prong set rhinestones are scattered over the entire bodice, as well as faux seed pearls. It zips up the back and is fully lined. It has boning in six places, entirely encased in the lining fabric. The skirt is full with volume from two stiff crinolines and two white fabric layers, one above and one underneath the crinoline.
The dress comes with a matching bolero jacket that has long sheer sleeves and beautiful cuffs that are edged with sequins and which are covered with the same fabric and embellishments as the bodice.
This is a deadstock dress, with tags attached. Excellent condition. The original price of the dress was $3100.00. There is a tag on which there is a list of the percentages of each fabric type used.
