The Day I Got Fired

Most people see Valor & Iron and think it started with a logo.

It didn’t.

It started the day I got fired.

At the time, I was angry.

I questioned myself.

I wondered how I was going to provide for my family.

For a while, all I could see was the door that had just closed.

Looking back now, I realize that day gave me something I never would have had otherwise.

It gave me a reason to build something that no one could ever take away from me.

So I started small.

One logo.

One shirt.

One hat.

One customer.

There were nights I wondered if I was wasting my time.

Weeks where nothing sold.

Times I questioned whether I should just quit.

But every order reminded me why I started.

Not because I wanted to sell apparel.

Because I wanted to build something that represented the people I respect the most.

Veterans.

Bikers.

Patriots.

Blue-collar Americans.

People who know what it’s like to get knocked down… and get back up anyway.

Today I’m rebuilding an old GMC pickup that most people would probably scrap.

Not because I need another truck.

Because that truck is going to carry Valor & Iron to motorcycle rallies, veteran events, and communities across Texas.

Every Marketplace part I’ve found, every late night in the garage, every dollar I’ve stretched… it’s all part of the same journey.

People ask me what “Earned Not Given” means.

It means this.

It means nobody handed me this company.

Nobody handed me the truck.

Nobody handed me success.

Every step has been earned.

One shirt.

One hat.

One customer.

One lesson.

One setback.

One victory at a time.

If you’re reading this because you just lost your job…

If you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom…

Don’t assume your story is over.

Sometimes the worst day of your life becomes the first chapter of the best one.
