LA was a blast. Highlights included (in no particular order) a live taping of America's Got Talent - AGT, getting to see Kelly Wearstler work at Santa Monica Proper Hotel (wildly inspiring for me), watching my kids play all day in the pacific, seeing our dear friends and their amazing apartment that was once housing for traveling Hollywood stars, Santa Monica pier and Venice bicycling, driving around to see how LA lives (fantastic homes!! 😳), but the best was spending the time with my family without any work distractions before the start of a new school year- even during a heat wave!

LA, you’re pretty dope. ❤️🌊🐟🥵🍔🍩

The house I took part in designing is a 3 bedroom house but designers always love to show versatility. I made one of the smaller bedrooms a colorful office for all of us WFH types.

It all started with the pink rug I spotted at , which set the tone of the room. From there I found these AMAZING MCM club chairs (I totally purchased these for myself off marketplace). I borrowed large format abstract paintings from my good friend (he’s more than an amazing landscape designer), and picked out a vintage desk and shelving from . I also recovered a vintage chair in my hair-on-hide from my handbag days and brought in some final accessories to compete the room.

I would be remiss to not mention the sheers, which I’ve always wanted to do, by . These set the airy tone of the room and don’t compete in any way with my bright pink rug and dark maroon side table. I was pleased with house this sweet little office turned out 📓📥✏️

We moved to the Hudson Valley almost three years ago so time for a home update. While I will always pine for Brooklyn, my family and I have been really happy up here and I’m managing to turn our white box of a house into a warm, inviting and cozy space.

Nothing happens overnight. Over the almost three years since we’ve been here I’ve been collecting and curating items to put in our home. My favorite vintage club chair was purchased for a Showhouse I did and now has found a perfect little spot in our living room. No, I did not plan on putting a navy blue sofa next to a navy blue island. But this is what we moved into and what we had from our BK apartment and it works for now. In the future I’d love to get 2 matching sofas (anything other than navy!) while having an extra area for two dope club chairs (for a future fireplace!). But that will come in time. I also want to paint this entire area in a warmer cozy color- thinking something creamy and earthy to bring more of the vibe in. New rug incoming from a sourcing trip to High Point Market and I will never stop swooning over the pair of solid wood extremely tall lamps that I pulled off the side of the road for (other one in my bedroom). I only paid $5 for both! One of my favorite purchases.

This is our home for now- messy but lived in. So many plans for her but it gives us a super comfy vibe that we feel good in- and what’s better than that? This is your reminder sometimes things don’t happen overnight and to trust the process. ❤️
