There are very few things in life that are more gratifying than creating something. My name is Jessica Marfa and I am a self-taught “creator” living in Portland, Oregon. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest exposed me to a variety of cultures and natural environments. I eventually moved to North Carolina where I met my husband Nicolas and my beautiful lab Pup. After finishing my business degree at
Barton College in Wilson, NC, we packed our bags and followed the Lewis and Clark trail to our current home here in Portland. My shop From Marfa with Love features vintage and handmade accessories from cameras to leather wallets and bags. Ninety percent of my materials are upcycled and purchased from a non-profit in Portland. My business card holders are currently sold at Re:Boutique, an upcycle only local shop. Forty percent of my sales at Re:Boutique go to a non-profit art association. I like to believe that my designs have a hint of masculinity and nature. I love clean designs and simplicity. When I design a product I always take a step back and think “will this design last a life time?” Another big inspiration has been my friends and family. All of my creations are named after a friend or family member who inspired or encouraged me to make them. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about what I do. I am always willing to challenge myself, so if have an idea or something you would like me to give a shot please do not hesitate to ask. If I succeed I will name it after you. Thank you,
Jessica Marfa
