I’m getting back to knitting more and figured stash diving and socks would be a good start.

This yarn was super special to me. It’s the colorway dyed to honor Michelle Obama by . I picked it up a little over four years ago at and didn’t feel quite right using it until January 21st this year. I picked a nice lacy pattern that works beautifully with this color.

The goofy pup is two years old today. I can’t believe how fast the time goes. The first picture was the day I met Lily when she was 6 weeks old. Her tiny face could fit in my hand and now she weighs as much as I do and has paws as big as my hands.

Her likes: naps, her blanket, her siblings (Piper, Wink, and Scout), snacks, and snuggles

Her dislikes: cold weather, doorbells (in real life and on television), hair clips, long walks, and not being able to eat garbage

This past Wednesday I got to hang out and go skating for the first time in over a year. Not too many people on Keystone’s 5 acre lake so lots of social distancing and plenty of room to practice puck-handling. took .neuner21 snowboarding for the first time. All accounts are that he had fun so more winter mountain trips are in our future.

Last Sunday, I went snowshoeing with .4.jamie up in Rocky Mountain National Park. We had to make lots of stops for Jamie to take amazing pictures and for me to catch Pokémon. 😂

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to celebrate two years with this handsome fella. Every day I wake up and can’t believe how lucky I am to have such a caring and supportive man in my life. He makes me smile, laugh and let’s me be myself. Love you Jack. I can’t wait to see what this year brings.

For our anniversary, we built Star Wars LEGOs and played Luigi’s Mansion 3. (Swipe to check out the legos we built.)

I had some fun triangle precuts laying around and thought my studio chair could use a new pillow. I played with the layout a bit and came up with this one. I really liked the rainbow I put together.

I wanted to use some of the fun buttons I’ve collected over the years. I decided to stack a couple with regular buttons so I could also have a little rainbow on the back.

I’m super happy with how it game out!

Lily’s favorite thing is her blanket that she stole from me. She carries it around and cuddles with it all the time. She’s really grown into a big goofball.

Each new year I like to sit down and write out my goals for the year. I write them for both my business and my personal life. It’s one of my favorite traditions.

If any are not currently enacted, write to your mayor or sheriff to let them know: eight can’t wait. It’s an easy actionable item that everyone can do right now.

I have been pretty absent from IG for the past few days. Partly, because I needed some space to process everything that is happening but mostly because I have been focused on working towards the most simple, tangible, first steps I believe we ALL can take to reduce police violence RIGHT NOW.
⠀
So today, I am back online and I am here with ACTION ITEMS!!
Many of you either know or have now heard of , one of the nation’s leading data and advocacy organizations focused on ending police violence.
Together, we are launching : a list of 8 policies that, when combined, have the power to reduce the police violence that results in death by up to 72% in our cities.
⠀
These policies can be changed immediately ( Something I didn’t know before working on this is that mayors have the power to change police policy TODAY if we create the demand) are common sense and easy to understand ideas regarding use-of-force that will make our communities safer.
⠀
Our plan is simple but not small - Learn about the policies (8cantwait.org or link in my bio!), find out which of the policies your city has in place, call/write/email your mayor demanding to have all 8 —and call/email them more than once!

This is data based and I believe this is something we can all show up to do to make real change right now.
I truly hope you will join me in this effort.

I also believe that this is one of the many pathways toward reforming our broken systems. Please don’t choose between this and your efforts to defund, prosecute, etc.

This is not an “either/or” it is a “both/and.” Whatever it is you are doing at this time, do this too! I love you. I love us.
