CherWear Creating hand-crafted jewelry with love, care and a passion for accessories that are derived from metal. Doing what I love and loving what I'm doing!

I have been a crafter since I was in grade school and was taught crocheting and Swedish Weaving by my grandmother and a favorite aunt. I learned sewing in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. I continued on as an adult to be self-taught in knitting, macrame' and various other crafts. I discovered jewelry-making through a friend, just in the past almost two years, and have never done anything befo

re that has filled me with the pure joy that making jewelry has done. I love, love, love it!! I have read many times throughout the years the phrase, "Find what you love and do it", and never really knew what "it" meant until I started making jewelry. It fills me with pure joy and I get lost in it and the creativity of it from conception to finish. As you look around my page, please check back often, as I will be adding new pieces as I get them made. Grandma , how do you deal with pain ? '
'With your hands dear . When you do it with your mind , the pain hardens more ' .
' With your hands , Grandma ? '
' Yes , yes . Our hands are the antennas of our soul .
When you move them by sewing , cooking , painting , touching the earth or sinking them into the earth , they send signals of caring to the deepest part of you and your soul calms down . This way she doesn't have to send pain any more to show it .'
'Are hands really that important ? '
'Yes, my girl . Think of babies , they get to know the world thanks to their touches . When you look at the hands of older people they tell more about their lives than any other part of the body . Everything that is made by hand , so is said , is made with the heart because it really is like this ; hands and heart are connected . Masseuses know this : when they touch another person's body with their hands , they create deep connection . Think of lovers , when their hands touch , they love each other in the most sublime way .'
' My hands , Grandma ...how long haven't I used them like that ? '
' Move them my girl , start creating with them and everything in you will move . The pain will not pass away , but it will be the best masterpiece . And it won't hurt anymore . Because you managed to embroider your essence ...'

Happy New Year!! I'm so looking forward to the year ahead...I am taking myself & my jewelry on a new adventure! As of this month of December, I am showcasing my jewelry at Annie's Little Pots in Princeton. I will be concentrating on making wire wrapped & woven pieces, beaded jewelry, & Vintaj pieces that are solid brass & have an old, vintage look. I am excited to be a part of Annie's world; she creates such beautiful pottery!! I got to see a cookie recipe plate she made for someone using the buyer's loved one's recipe. It was unique & an awesomely creative idea! Besides myself, there are also other very talented jewelry artists in her shop, selling their own creative pieces. We all have something different to offer & there is a great variety of jewelry to choose from. Check out her shop. It's located on the north end of historic Princeton. You won't be disappointed!

Also, I will continue to sell my jewelry from my page here and custom orders are welcomed.

My Story

I have been a crafter since grade school when my maternal grandmother and a favorite aunt taught me how to crochet and do Swedish weaving. I learned to sew in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades and I went on from there into adulthood to learn knitting, macrame’, needle punch, embroidery, counted cross stitch and anything else creative that came along. Another favorite aunt taught me a unique way of candle making, and for many years, I thoroughly enjoyed making unity wedding candles using the bride and groom’s invitation as the focal and decorating the candles with flowers using their wedding colors, after painstakingly creating melted wax on the outside of the candle that resembled snow. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every craft I have learned in my well seasoned journey through this life, but repetition can lead to boredom, so I was always searching for something new and different to literally get my hands into.

I discovered jewelry-making through a close friend, just a little over five years ago, and have never done anything before that has filled me with such passion and pure joy that making jewelry has given me. I love, love, love it!! It excites me and sets my creativity into motion unlike anything I have ever done. It sets my soul on fire! I have heard and also read many times throughout the years that one should find something you love and “do that", but never really knew what “that” meant until I started making jewelry. Wow. It opened up a huge new world! There are so many different facets of jewelry making that I am constantly learning new and different paths to explore! I’ve discovered new roads! I have studied hard and tackled hand stamping on metal, metal etching, the world of polymer clay, wire wrapping and weaving, and oooooh, WOWEE, it’s all so much FUN! I love organic things and all things in nature; metal, rocks, semi-precious stones and whatever else I can find to create a piece of jewelry from conception to the final creation. Every piece has its own journey and I always have a such a sense of satisfaction when I finish a piece. But, there is also a sense of loss, akin to nurturing something very special, tending to it with hands, heart and soul to form and complete its own, unique full circle, and then letting it go. Like a chrysalis turning into a butterfly.... something so plain and ordinary becomes transformed into a beautiful piece of art.

A large part of my jewelry making journey also includes quotes. I LOVE quotes. I call them little snippets of positive power packed bursts of information to help us on our life’s journey. To lift us up when we are struggling and to give us hope that in our darkest hours, there is light. To help us become all that we were meant to be. To realize that this too, shall pass, for everything in life changes and nothing stays the same. To share our struggles and triumphs and joys and to know that we are not alone, for we are all far more the same than we are different. All things are connected, as are we; we are all the same inside and love is the driving force. What is love? God is love and love is really all there is. We are all a part of that love and that love is all a part of us. Simple as that. ~

Thank you for stopping by. As you look around my page, please check back often, as I will be adding new pieces as I get them made. If you would like to purchase any of my creations or want to have something custom made, please private message me here.
