Update from yesterday’s training session: The trainer was SO IMPRESSED with Snacks🤗 She said she could tell that we had been working with her a lot and that her leash work and focus were great 🖤

We got some question answered (and some training ourselves) on how to handle unpredictable stimuli; barking or charging dogs, kids running around/too close to Snacks, lound noises, etc. We practiced how to be proactive and not reactive when we come across those situations.

The next step is to take Snacks out in public 3-4 times a week; Starbucks, Panera, Lowe’s, Home Depot as Snacks needs to start understanding her role in p***c places.

HUGE NEWS: Snacks did so well that the trainer wants to start introducing scent training before her advanced training. This means we’ll have to start collecting saliva samples in the middle of the night when Jaxon has super lows or highs. We’ll use a sterilized q-tip, double bag it, mark the date, time, exact blood sugar level, and then freeze it. These samples will be good for up to 3 months.

The next couple weeks will be full of more outings with Snacks. If you see us out and about, make sure to wave and say hi but please do not touch Snacks, as she is learning how to be the best service dog she can be 🖤🐕‍🦺
