Let's support our downtown Drop-in Center!

DARE (Drop-in And Rest) offers a place of refuge for people experiencing homelessness, or are at-risk of homelessness. DARE operates 2:30 to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday, at 944 Kentucky. The Center provides the basic necessities, such as a shower, washer and dryer, coffee, and an inviting place to come in and get off of the street.
DARE is completely run by unpaid volunteers and is an essential part of easing the lives of many Lawrence citizens. It is more important now, than ever, to make sure people have a place to rest, to recharge, to feel seen and cared about. It's time to show some monetary support to this vital organization, especially as temperatures once again swing into the extreme.
ALL donations will be given to the DARE Center. The goal is $6K, but I know Lawrence can exceed that. Let's do it! If you don't have the means to donate, sharing and spreading the word is extremely beneficial too.

Finally ready to list this little piece that only took me eight years to be happy with!
