STRINGING/KNOTTING Workshop learn the technique used in fine jewelry. Necklaces with gemstones/pearls in fine jewelry are knotted during the stringing process between each stone to prevent scratching/damaging the adjacent gemstones. In this workshop you will learn the technique using larger wooden beads and cords inspired by the popular Mala Meditation Necklaces. Learning/practicing on a larger scale helps perfecting the skill. Design your own necklace with a choice of Wood/Seed Beads and Colorful Cords to create a necklace that can also be worn as a wrap bracelet.

M A K I N G G O L D R I N G...
Jan is regroup and thinking about ideas/designs/new techniques to learn so I like to go through my photo library and just remembering the process for this ring. I had been looking for an antique Gypsy ring for many years then one day I realized I could just make it…sometimes obvious things are not so obvious and one needs to go through a whole process to get there as I hadn’t made any important jewelry for myself in years. This is my mom’s diamond… a 1.5 old European mine cut that I set in an Electrum bezel setting about 20 years ago and never really wear anymore so it was obviously ready for a refresh! The whole process involves carving a wax model then cast in gold then setting the stone.
