Back in 1955, Dean Hicken founded The Kater Shop in Logan, Utah. Hicken, a former JC Penney employee, had a vision of a store that was able to "kater" to every menswear-related need. The Kater Shop would be dedicated to fulfilling all requests, regardless of what size or what item. In 2009, the business was sold to Mike Hammond, a long-time employee of The Kater Shop.
