This was the first quilt I made last summer while we were in Oregon. It was a free pattern from and used one of their exclusive precuts, the Vegas Strip. In hindsight I would have used a different color for the daisies in the green blocks. The solid green I used blended a little too well with the green prints. I think black, white , or even bright yellow would have been a better choice. The quilt is backed in minky in the color butter . I used Quilters Dream Select 80/20 batting and So Fine thread to quilt it in a pale yellow. The pantograph is Playful Daisies by Patricia Ritter from .elementz. The fabric line is Delightful Daisies from Benartex. Yep, I really leaned into the daisy theme.

A friend gave me some beautiful watercolors of the Oregon coast lighthouses. They were painted by Judith Miller Kirby back in the 90's and heat transferred to 100% cotton. My friend had had them for quite some time and when she found out we had a home on the Oregon coast she offered them to me. I thought a storm at sea quilt would be appropriate to showcase the lighthouse blocks. I played around in EQ8 until I had the right sizes. The batiks were picked up at Road 2 California with this project in mind. It's backed with a lovely seashell fabric by Dan Morris. This quilt will be traveling to our Oregon home this summer to find a place of honor there. The Heceta Head lighthouse which is part of the quilt is local to our home in Florence.

Another one in the books. I collected all these fat quarters on my way to a retreat at Creation Station in Buellton, CA last year with this quiltpatternin mind. We stopped at 6 different quilt stores on the way there plus I bought a few there. I had the cherry fabric I used for the backing for years. My goal this year is to sew what I have. I used leftover trimmings to make a cat bed.

has the most fun preprinted bags to make. They're all printed on waterproof canvas and come with a zipper and a QR code for a free tutorial. This was the fifth Bag of the Week (BOTW). Get a couple, you won't regret it. I lined mine with a FQ of batik, but lining is optional.

I found this 90's apron panel in my mom's sewing room when we cleaned it out a few years ago. It was folded up and I stashed it away until today. When I unfolded it I found a 4 inch square cut out of the top of it. It appears it was a pair of cardinals someone wanted. Rather than toss it I found some fabric that had similar birds and made it into a fun Christmas apron. I made it reversible with another Christmas fabric on the back.
