A hammock in tagalog is called a Duyan and this sticker image was inspired by a trip with my family to my Nanays hometown in Dao , Capiz in the Visayan region early 2006.
My family in Capiz lives in the rice fields in the province where it’s only dirt roads still. My Lola’s sister Lola Trinidad was brought to the house in a Duyan (hammock) with two male pinsans holding her with bamboo sticks because Lola Trinidad couldn’t walk thru the rice field. Dressed in traditional Visayan garb this sticker is an ode to my late Lolas, the Visayas and imagined how Lola will look in her younger years. One of my most memorable memories in the PI.
