Well, she made it back in one piece …albeit a bit battered and a lot weary, still triaging the aftermath, trying to make it a little less bitter than sweet.

But there was sweetness, lots of it, mostly centered around this place- - and these people- & Fiona and her lil’ ones. I quite literally would have lost my mind had I not had these sweet souls and this refuge to keep me afloat.

All to say, Sri Lanka, you still have my heart. I already miss your fiery sunsets and every shade of green, and most of all, your wild, magical, unforgettable beasts.🙏🏻🇱🇰🐘

I do scare myself sometimes, but change clearly isn’t my issue…perpetually searching for what “safe” actually feels like, only to find myself suspended in midair, yet again, with certainty just out of reach, and safety, nowhere to be found.

And still I leap. Fully alive, always.. Mostly scared, fully. But leap, I must- eyes wide open, hoping, this time maybe I’ll find a softer landing.
