Akifaru collaborates with promising artists, providing them with a stage where they can expose their creativity. Their artwork is physically manifested through clothing and accessories. Our brand "Akifaru" is rooted on the Swahili phrase "askari wa kifaru," which directly translates to "I protect the rhino," and gives the name to the tick bird that is often found on a rhinoceros’ back. These two different species are able to coexist and mutually protect each other; they hold a symbiotic relationship. We express this relationship in real life by supporting and collaborating with artists from different backgrounds. Akifaru supporters wear a brand that is the product of collaboration from many different artists. At the same time, Akifaru strives to bring change to the community it develops itself in. It is satisfying to see Akifaru's ideas spread, but it is more satisfying to evidence that the brand's values have served as a catalyst for improvement in its community. Following the principle of symbiosis, Akifaru pledges to support self-sustainable initiatives that help the communities of those that have brought life to Akifaru.
