When a side-quest for lols becomes a viral moment: is an account run by Portland-based thrift store owners and absolute maniac twin brothers Ethan and Owen. When they are not adding hundreds of layers of starch to jeans they are rolling a rock until it becomes a perfect sphere (results tbd) and we love em for it.

Denim repair is an arduous, skilled and noble profession as it is, but this example from aka Rain Delisle really got us emotional. Cut off by EMS in a life-saving procedure, these  jeans took many hours over 2 days to repair. The dude was also wearing a  shirt that was cut into pieces and Rain created a constellation from the star print to commemorate the transformation. She says: “When I received the application for these jeans, I knew that it would be a highly emotional and cathartic repair, and that I HAD to take them on. This is the kind of stuff that makes me feel alive”

Here’s another floral detail jacket for you. This one goes out to the true Denimheads because it’s such an epic detail I’ve never seen before; turning bar tacks on a pleat front trucker/ rigid jean into daisies. Ingenious. It’s part of a collection by Khanh Ngo who’s gained notoriety through his viral studded new era hats, but is a super accomplished and rounded designer who has been in apparel for years and he just dropped a 28 piece collection in April. The range taps inspiration from his personal heritage, folding in nods to Vietnam souvenir jackets as well as midwestern nods and symbols of American hard work and resilience such as horses and ropes. And of course the floral motif represents the DNA of his brand: Nothing Grows Overnight 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Available direct through NGO, Complex shop or Nordstrom.
