Hi! My name is Morgan and I am the face behind The Infinite Thread. I started my business 10 years ago in 2015 here in Louisville, Kentucky. I’m originally from NY, went to high school outside of DC in Maryland, and relocated to Kentucky in 2005 a few years after completing my art degree in western NY at at . My work comes out of using needle and thread on paper as a line-making technique during my senior thesis. I don’t know why I started doing it, no one else in my school was stitching on paper and it wasn’t really a “thing” back then, I just felt compelled to do it. I have a history of women crafters/artisans in my family, all working in thread/fiber/yarn, so there was definitely inspiration there, and that’s part of where the name for my company comes from. I had worked at craft shows all through high school for 💜 and caught the bug and after art school, I thought a lot about how I could take my conceptual work in stitching on paper and make it a consumable craft, and here we are today! I love the work that I do and I find it very meditative. I also consciously choose to make pieces that have the ability to completely return to the earth, and try to use recycled and sustainably-sourced paper as much as possible. In addition to my craft work, I also work full-time as a professional in the legal field (not an attorney!), and a wife to the incredibly talented photographer and mother to an amazing little man who astounds me every day. He is our most incredible art project yet! I couldn’t do what I do without them, and especially my mom .21 who is the most awesome booth-buddy at shows, a major inspiration to me, and one of the people I lean on most. My whole family has been incredibly supportive of my art, and it means the world to me. It really does take a village!
