Rare and Beautifully Detailed Piece of Imperial German History
Up for sale is an authentic, original Imperial German Regimental Beer Stein (Reservistenkrug) commemorating service in the 5th Company of the 5th Baden Infantry Regiment No. 113 (5. Badisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 113), which was historically garrisoned in Freiburg.
This stein was custom-made for a soldier completing his active service duty, spanning the years 1896 to 1898 (marked 96 and 98 on the lower banners).
Key Features & Design:
Central Shield: Prominently displays the bold blue unit insignia with the regiment number "113", flanked by imperial flags, crowns, and a pickelhaube helmet.
Top Ribbon Text: "Gläser an, hoch lebe der..." (Glasses up, long live the...) across the top border, framed by the traditional service virtues "Reserve" (Left) and "Ehre" (Honor - Right).
Hand-Painted Scenes: Detailed lithographed and hand-painted side vignettes depicting soldiers at camp around a fire, standing watch, and a combat scene labeled "In das Gefecht..." (Into battle).

Complete Company Roster: The body features two long, handwritten columns in traditional German Sütterlin script detailing the names of the comrades in the 5th Company.
