We were lucky enough to escape the snow for bit! The project I had along was a bag of small balls of yarn to turn into something. Granny squares are always what I turn to, but so many ends to sew in.😊🪡🧶 We enjoyed the sunshine, flowers, and warm temperatures, and returned to snow still covering our pool!😳

Why Michigan in the winter?…

The most common question asked on our travels exploring Michigan. “Why on earth would you choose January to travel this state?”

The answer is this…

Travelling isn’t just about the sun, beaches and comfort. There’s real beauty in the opposite, seeing how people that live here all year round survive and thrive.

It’s inspiring. Not only that… it’s beautiful. I’ve seen things I never thought I’d see. Snow mounds higher than houses. Frozen lakes as far as the eyes can see. Icicles larger than doors. People laughing and flying around on snowmobiles with friends. Neighbours helping each other getting snow off their roof.

For a place so cold. You have so much warmth.

That’s why we chose Michigan in the winter.

And what’s that famous saying?… If we don’t experience you at your worst. Then we don’t deserve you at your best. ❤️
